Drikus Saaiman was born in Bloemfontein, 1981 but grew up in a small town in the North West called Lichtenburg. He studied Sport Sciences at Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria and started working at the High Performance Centre. In 2004, at Tuks he did his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist course. Drikus came to the Warriors in October 2005 on consultancy basis and later stayed on from the beginning of the 2006 season as the Strength and Conditioning coach. Drikus has been a part of SA – A tours to Australia, Bangladesh and England, he has also toured with the Proteas to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Drikus is also the longest serving and most experienced Strength & Conditioning coach in South African cricket and most recently worked with the Nelson Mandela Giants who were one of the teams in the Mzansi Super League.
