Christiaan Jonker

Christiaan Jonker was born in Rustenburg on the 24th of September 1986, he has played for North West, South Western Districts, Warriors and was included in the Border cricket teams 2015 Africa T20 Cup. His love for the game started when he watched his brother playing and he knew that he wanted to do play cricket forever. Jonkie prides himself on bringing honesty, energy and advice to the younger guys as his best traits. When he, is away from cricket he plays golf, does mountain biking with friends and loves new adventures. His favourite food is sushi, but he would eat anything that lands on his plate and his cricket role models are Brian Lara and Neil McKenzie. His most memorable cricket moments are making his Warriors debut and his Proteas debut, this is where in 2018 he made his T20 international debut for South Africa against India where he scored a stunning 49*, as a batting all-rounder, ‘Jonkie’ is dubbed as a heavy hitter who can finish off games. If Jonkie wasn’t playing cricket he would be playing hockey for South Africa, running a sports shop or doing anything sports related
